Have you heard about Google blogger, Lauren Turner, who wrote this article and was forced by Google to “clarify” it?
I thought she made some valid points — points that seem to guide readers toward Google’s products.
What if Sicko (sorry, it doesn’t deserve a link) really is a distorted piece of propaganda by some do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do fat blob?
What’s the point of having corporate bloggers if you’re going wuss out under a little pressure?

I think you may be missing the point. She is saying that Google can help turn around the attitude people have toward healthcare with their positive advertising (that you have to pay them for…..)
She can say what she wants, it’s just not very smart or appropriate for Lauren to be picking sides. Her blog entry would have been a fantastic solicitation to those clients. It was very unprofessional to post it. That’s probably why they asked her to clarify. However, the clarification, was no better. She equates democracy to something you pay for (advertising). So if democracy=pay for it. I guess we should start charging for voting.
LOL @ “do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do fat blob” Love it when you indulge in ad hominem attacks when you have nothing substantial to say against the guy. Even Fox News gave the movie a thumbs-up and I assume you haven’t seen it yet.
As for Google, Lauren Turner’s point is simple: jump the queue in pushing your opinion on top by throwing more money - at Google.
This is a waste of a blog post.
C’mon. Michael Moore is the king of the ad-hominem attack. Isn’t that what all of his movies are — attacking the person/people instead of addressing the real issues…?
Maybe I should produce a movie.
I see the point. You prefer a privative health system in which thousands of people die every year. You don’t mind. But you don’t want either the negative press or the testimonies.
This is the selfish point when you think “I pay for it, poor people, f-you!”. That is until you really need treatment and they decide is to risky (but you paid your premium service for decades!).
It is not about liberal or conservative, about left or right. Weapons and health industries play with human lives. And believe me, they deserve a kick in the guts.
The point in democracy is that rich people does not hold a power proportional to their money. Even if the implementation of the idea is very faulty (and it is in the USA), comparing ads to democracy is sick. In fact i see “educational campaigns” as very evil.
When google killed the “google bombs”, they became evil. Democracy doesn’t mean anything for them anymore. I don’t have anything against the ads as long as i get fair results, which is not happening anymore. As people starts to feel the chilling effect they will move to another search engines. That is a seppuku move.
As with any big organization, there are abuses. I’m not denying that these things happen.
My point is that it’s a conservative viewpoint that Sicko, produced by a the liberal Michael Moore, is extremely biased and likely incomplete.
In effect Google has discounted a valid conservative viewpoint, which is my gripe.
