Looks like the NY Times has done our country another grave disservice. This time revealing the identity of a CIA interrogator. (No link for you, NY Times!)
Is it any wonder that the White House is forced to play games with the mainstream media?

Great. Another stupid article about how Bush knew there were no WMDs in Iraq.
Not only did Saddam have WMDs, he used them on the Kurds.
What about Georges Sada and the claims in his book? He was in Saddam’s inner circle. He says they’re in Syria.
Saddam played everyone and funded it through the Oil-For-Food debacle.

This is going to be really bad. She’s terrible on the evening news and she’s going to be terrible in the Middle East.
Who’s not going to see this as a really dumb publicity stunt?
I felt it would be really important for the American people to get a big picture of what is going on, in terms of northern Iraq, in terms of Sadr City (and) the Anbar province. People hear all these things and I think it’s really hard—as some people get Iraq fatigue—to keep a healthy and understandable perspective of what is going on. My goal is to provide that.
Yeah, the “Big Picture.” Riiight.
If you want the “big picture” check out Michael Yon’s blog.

Apparently, the “[...] most qualified candidate, in either party, on foreign policy” expert Barack Obama thinks invading Pakistan to root out terrorists is a viable option for the U.S.
It’s surprising that he would say that, since surely aware of the role Pakistan has already played in the War on Terror.
He says he’s qualified in foreign policy. Aside from his anti-war sentiments (which are easy and chic to blab about these days), how is he more qualified?
- Lived in a foreign country for 4 years as a child? Check.
- Took some college classes on International Relations. Check.
- Member of the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations. Check.
- When posed the question “Would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea?”, he responded, “I would.” Check.
Oh, OK.

I wonder if Jon Stewart actually read Georges Sada’s book?
Too bad the interview wasn’t long enough or serious enough.

I’ve been reading Michael Yon’s blog quite a bit lately. It’s a lot to read, but it’s very interesting, IMO.
This particular post, titled “Second Chances,” recounts the Al Qaeda massacre in Baqubah. He mentions stringers for the news agencies and how they gather verifiable information about events in the field.
You’ll have to read it for yourself.

Here’s another credible source saying that there were, in fact, WMDs in Iraq and that they were smuggled out — further corroborating Georges Sada’s claims in his book.

More evidence the Saddam had WMDs?

After reading his book and articles like this, I think we haven’t been fed the real story about Iraq and WMDs from the mainstream media. Don’t discount his story as pro-Bush propaganda. He pulls no punches in criticizing the U.S. and it’s missteps in dealing with Iraq.

After reading this book it really made me wonder why some of his claims haven’t been bantered about in the mainstream media and in Washington. There’s so many details in the book and with Sada’s firsthand interactions with Saddam, Chemical Ali, Tariq Aziz, Uday and Qusay, it’d be crazy not to give him and his book significant credibility.
Here’s some of the details:
- Saddam had a plan to use chemical weapons on Israel
- Nearly all of the weapons of mass destruction were transferred into Syria in modified commercial airliners
- Saddam hired Chinese scientists to develop nuclear weapons for him
- The scope of the Oil-for-Food scandal ridiculously huge
- The biggest U.S. mistake in dealing with Iraq was pulling the troops out after the first Gulf War.
It’s a miracle to me that this guy made it out of Iraq alive.

This seems to somewhat jive with Georges Sada’s book, Saddam’s Secrets, except Sada says that Saddam transferred the WMDs to Syria before the second war started.

This is an excellent big-picture article about the War on Terror. You should read the whole thing. (Meyer definitely hooked me in at the beginning with the Operating System comparison.)
One question I do have is this: Is there such a thing as a peaceful Muslim as opposed to a “radical” one? Where are they?
Do you agree or disagree with his premise? Why?

Interesting that he references the 600k bogus death toll in Iraq.

…it surveyed 1,849 Iraqi families in 47 different neighborhoods across Iraq…
I like what one of the commenters said:
The sheer fact that none in the media actually gave this number a real challenge, and many reported it as if it were the gospel truth just goes to show how much they really want it to be real.

C’mon! Anyone who’s read anything about Ahmadinejad knows he wants to wipe Israel off the map.
“We are against the atomic bomb,†he said. “We believe bombs are used only to kill people. And we are against killing people.â€

It’s hard not to get discouraged about the direction that America is taking. I don’t think president Bush is the problem.

As much as people gripe about to so-called “blundering war on terror”, it’s in the interests of the US to keep things like this under wraps. We really have no idea what’s going on, because all we have is a biased mainstream media feeding us a bunch of crap.
