Below is an e-mail I got from some missionary doctors that I know from college. Thought I would pass along their need. God’s doing some pretty amazing stuff through them in Kudjip, Papua New Guinea:
Dear friends and supporters:
We recently had an expert team from Samaritan’s Purse/World Medical Mission come to help with an enormous amount of electrical problems and repairs. Some of them are honestly staggering (both our hydroelectric plant and major generator have failed leaving us on expensive and un-reliable national power). Please pray for major funding we are seeking to address some of these problems.
Some other issues were found by the team as we look into moving our equipment soon to the new hospital. We knew our old x-ray is quite old and needs a lot of TLC, but we are told now that transferring this machine will be nearly impossible and even if we can move it, it will not last much longer (and they don’t even make the parts for it anymore). We have been advised to buy a new x-ray unit with processor, estimated cost $35,000. Samaritan’s Purse is helping us acquire this unit at an excellent price. The new unit is far superior, lighter, simpler, perfect for our setting, with high quality Xrays.
Please pray for the many things going on with the power problems and getting ready to move to the new hospital. If you are interested in donating to the X-ray unit you can send funds to:
“Global Treasurer”, designate “Work of Nazarene Hospital, Kudjip, PNG” and just drop me a note so we know to look for it and what to do with it.
Send to:
