Dumb:24 Going Carbon Neutral

050214-koolaid.jpg

Apparently the creators of 24 have been drinking Al Gore’s Kool-Aid.

This is not a good sign for the future of the show.  It’s not going to be long before this junk is going to make it into the storyline.

Way to alienate a rather large conservative fan base, guys!

(Lots of good discussion going on a NewsBusters.com…)

My thoughts on the mid-term election results

Well, I think everything/one I voted "yes" for lost yesterday with the exception of MO Amendments 6 & 7 and the smoking tax. Probably my biggest concern is the MO stem cell research amendment that passed. In my mind, it’s really a Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice issue when you follow it to it’s highest level. (Which, BTW, is pretty much a black & white issue for me) It was proposed as a response to Conservative legislative efforts to protect life from conception to birth. It concerns me because:

  • It’s vague. Why do we need an amendment to the MO Constitution for it?
  • It ignores adult stem cell research. I really didn’t ever buy the testimonials of those with Parkinsons or a spinal cord injury. They all just tried to elicit an emotional response and steer me away from the details. I found it offensive.
  • It exploits women for money. Seriously. How can it not turn into: some poor girl desperate for money for <fill in the blank> goes down to the local clinic gets $100 bucks for her eggs?
  • The PR machine for the amendment was funded by the Stowers family, who have a large financial interest in it passing.
  • It may nullify some existing abortion laws and it has the weight of a MO constitutional amendment behind it now

Not good. Good: No more <bleeping> annoying phone calls at dinnertime and no more <bleeping> commercials. This is hilarious. Clay Chastain — Mr. Annoying Non-Local Political Activist himself — gets light-rail in Kansas City on the ballot for, like, the 100th time. You’d think it’d go down in flames like the 99 other times it was on the ballot, but nooooo. It passed. LOL. Light rail from the Plaza to the Airport…we’ll see.

Another fine example of media bias against conservative Christians.
